Uta Frith: why I no longer think autism is a spectrum
The autism spectrum has widened to the point of collapse, affecting how teachers should support autistic pupils in the classroom, researcher Uta Frith tells Helen Amass
@kinsale42@autistics agreed. people like this make me crazy because theyre not autistic and dont have to deal with all the stupid shit i deal with every day.
@emily_rugburn@autistics yeah I got down to the "it's difficult to hold a conversation with someone who's actually autistic" and my eyes tried to roll right out of my head
@kinsale42@autistics she started talking about...only kids can actually be properly diagnosed because adolescents, particularly girls, can mask and can therefore be a "proper" person without accommodation. *sigh*
