Had a few hours to spare so I made a match-3 game in @godotengine . Any interest to release this as a new Starter Kit, open source? I'll add some more juice, sounds and improve the visuals!
@kenney @godotengine !!!!!!!!! Yes! How is that even a question... I'm eating this. [positive]
@kenney @godotengine
absolutely 🙂‍↕️!
@kenney @godotengine that would be awesome, i built a match three for a game jam recently and struggled a bit chaining tweens for sliding/matching that seeing other implementation would be super educational!
@kenney @godotengine Oh yes! There are paid kits in Unity land, and I have been trying to build the scoring logic for one myself in dragonruby. But it's a tricky pattern finding problem for a more art brained me. So if you can inplement something simple to follow that can do some detecting shape or count of symbols in a given color match, that would be an amazing resource to learn from and play with! This logic shows up a lot in puzzle game stuff, and most (including me) tend to brute force it!
@kenney @godotengine yes it looks nice! can you add some other colors like purples and reds?
@kenney @godotengine yes! I've always wondered what these were like under the hood!

@kenney yes please! It looks great and I'm curious how it was implemented (I know close to nothing in game dev...)
