Reason number one million one why these type of bike lanes don't work. This bike lane should have been put in the street. I see this all the time. People walking don't respect that it's a dedicated bike lane not part of the sidewalk. Note I was walking when I took this photo. #infrastructure #cycling #biketooter

@wolfy1 I disagree. I think that this is safer for people on bikes. I’d rather deal with a pedestrian in a bike lane than a driver or parked car.

@jim_i_am In the summer there are A LOT more people blocking it and they absolutely refuse to move even looking right at you. That's only one issue with it. The others include driveway conflicts, giant light posts and other utilities on the bike path, people placing signs and other items on it, gaps in the concrete wider than some tires etc. I ride all over this city and the streets are far and away safer than this horrible bike path. I avoid it as much as possible. Horrible planning on this.

@wolfy1 that sucks, I’m sorry.

Here is it’s right by the road it’s considered to be a place to park / drive / put dumpsters.

Either way it sounds like people just suck.

@jim_i_am Oh yeah some of the street bike lanes here have similar issues, unfortunately.
