@memoria @glados_announcements adding this to my side projects to eventually do
@konstruct memoria adding this to my side projects to eventually do.
@konstruct it's lots of fun and only took a couple minutes! just download the sherpaTTS app, open app and in the piper section scroll to glados model (its in en_US) download model, restart app, open CoMaps settings, and set sherpaTTS as the engine
@memoria Nice! Sadly I destructively debloated this phone so tts is broken on it. But it's just another reason to change hardware and migrate to grapheneos sooner
@konstruct have you heard the motorola news?
@memoria yep! Waiting for a compatible one, checked the grapheneos and it seems it's not on older phones ? Otherwise I definitely have my eyes on a phone from them
@konstruct @memoria
Yes, only new models (will) meet GrapheneOS hardware security requirements, they're not building for older Motorolas -- imagine reversing firmware for a couple of devices you'd never worked on while also maintaining the OS for almost every Pixel model

@darkcat09 @konstruct @memoria and OFC only their high-end devices because anything not 4-digits will get shipped with crappy #MediaTek SoCs as usual.

I just think GrapheneOS's requirements are bad and uncompromizingly worse than #CensorBoot bs.

@[email protected] This is really disappointing from @[email protected] because of all the #manufacturers, #Motorola literally fights #EU standards for #LongTermSupport of #firmware *with tooth and nail*... - Like all their arguments against #Fairphone apply to Motorola *too, if not harder*! - Cuz I sincerely doubt Motorola will do even half of their *"#security"* demands and is *even worse #AntiRepairDesign* than #Google's garbage devices! I guess #GrapheneOS need an #EgoCheck and instead #LineageOS and other #ROM|s really need to *up their game*... - As for me, I don't trust *any* mobile phone - period! - And that won't change until I either get the entire #schematics and *#reproduceable #firmware builds* WITH the entire #SourceCode...

@kkarhan I'll welcome whatever empowerment leftist FOSS and privacy gets in this day & age where it's facing hostility from all fronts
At the end of the day it'll give more options, cheap ones in the used market especially, and it's always good to be independent from google
@memoria CoMaps is really cool! I've been using it over Apple Maps lately and it's surprisingly decent.
