Dinah 🕊🇺🇦@Rachelburch Gorgeous! And wow the 16th century and earlier survivals in that church are treasures. I'm taking Oxford's online class 'Investigating the Elizabethans' and am newly sensitized to how much decoration vanished with the reformation of the churches under Henry VIII and Edward VI.
@Rachelburch Fun to see that Tudor "grotesque" style from wall paintings rendered three-dimensionally in the old pew pieces that make that wall screen.
Looking at that and the surviving wall decor, Tudor interiors must have been wild. Like decorating your walls with psychedelic anime.
