Since the Macbook Neo is limited to 8GB due to how the A18 Pro is designed (Memory stacked onto die on chip). I wonder if that means a second gen Macbook Neo based on the A19 Pro would have 12GB of RAM as that's what all current products with that SoC use.

If they manage to bump the memory to 12GB with the next generation without increasing the price, the Neo's value proposition would suddenly become a LOT better

@quad I still think the value is mostly propped up due to the #AIbubble making #RAM and #SSD|s unaffordable…

Speaking of RAM: #Apple quietly canceled the.biggest RAM option for the #MacStudio

@kkarhan I don't think the Neo's value is that bad considering the metal build and seemingly good screen (at least on paper),

There's definitely some apple tax on there, but not a whole lot. Especially considering the current market.

I've ordered one so I'll have to see it when I get it, but I assume it'd work very well for most people. The only issue being RAM, even a regular user is going to flow way over 8GB and constantly rely on swap/compression if they're not the type who cleans out their browser tabs regularly.

And yes, I know the 512GB Studio is gone. (Honestly don't mind because it seems to mostly have been built to make cheap alternatives to DGX clusters anyhow after they added RDMA). I don't spend much time worrying about the ultra-high end stuff like that.
