@listeningclub @ogili In re: British accents, I would say that it's not the United States can't deal with regional British accents outside of RP, but rather there is no way we'd be able tell the difference from Mancunian from Scouce. It's just "not RP" thus unknown.

@wbwolf @listeningclub although to be absolutely fair, I once went out with a girl from South Yorkshire, and would struggle to understand her parents broad accent at times, and once had a flatmate from Glasgow whose accent was more incomprehensible the more he had to drink. So....
