To charge a battery in ⅕ the time you need 5x the current or 5x the voltage. Or some trade-off between the two. The first would need a cable roughly twice the diameter of existing rapid chargers, and they are already heavy. The second adds to safety problems. So what are Byd proposing? @mossman @Ruth_Mottram I'm not casting doubt, I already drive an EV and find rapid charge cables heavy and awkward. I'd just like to know how Byd, or anyone else, propose to handle five times the power.

If you look at the video you'll see they've suspended the cables from above and the comment from the vlogger is that it's actually much easier to use than the normal cables.
