I calculated what Bartab makes for every download.

It’s made almost $2 per download over the apps lifetime, after Apples cut. Which has to be pretty great, right?

I’d say this is further proof I should focus on widening the top level funnel to bring in more users.

And I’ve already made some strides here!

I’ve brought up the conversion rate to just under 6% this last month, from a pretty steady ~1% historically.

Not sure if this is due to ASO changes bringing in more high intent users or better screenshots. Maybe both?

Looking at these numbers has me even more excited for the shift in business model, since I’m still dropping VERY many users due to high first use friction.

Say that ~20% of downloads actually lead to someone testing out the app, that’s now ~$20 per started trial.

Of course, with the current set up, realistically only those with very high intent jump through the hoops to try it out.

So lowering the friction will likely also bring in more low intent users.

Regardless, there’s very many potential subscribers I’ve left on the table. Until now 😊

@joforselldev my app is at $0.15 per download.
But your app is way more niche. There probably aren't a lot of users who download the app without having some general use for the app.
@jandamm Exactly. I’ve had around 1k downloads per year since launch, which really isn’t a lot. Of course, getting more users in the door in general may also dilute the high intent users percentage wise, so these numbers might not be as impressive if downloads increase going forward.
@jandamm by the way, that’s supposed to be $2, not $4 😅
