Pillion non-spoiler fun fact:

The featured piano piece is Erik Satie's Gymnopédie No. 1. The French title "Gymnopédie" means nude dance and derives from an ancient Greek word for an annual festival that featured young men dancing nude.

It's all the more poignant that Ray is just self-learning how to play it.

That isn't a great recording of the piece (at all), but the choice for the light-up keyboard was deliberate. 😉
@jeawhiz ok but when I heard it start in the film I was like, this is kind of trite

@ccshan Yeah, I was also like, Oh this piece 🙄. Cliché. But when Ray started plunking through it, I gave him +1 for the struggle to learn something of shared culture. He's not some oaf.

I want to write an essay, "In defense of Ray". I saw myself in both of them in different regards.

@jeawhiz Gymno... OMG! Instant epiphany orgasm here! So Gymnosperm (the scientific term for the pine trees) means "naked seed"! Must explain why I'm so aroused each time I take a hike!
