...and use Orbot to run a ❄️ Snowflake
orbot.app/en/
@torproject
I would if it didn't make my battery run down and my phone heat up.
@torproject I thought Orbot was in the process of being deprecated
@specialwall @torproject yes I'm wondering what's the progress on Tor VPN for Android
@specialwall @torproject Me too, but I guess until TorVPN is still in Beta they can't endorse it.

@torproject The documentation on running snowflake on Android is ... Let's say there's room for improvement. I couldn't find info and had to play around with the app until I think I found a solution and am still not sure about some things.

Anyways...
Thanks for your work :)

@binbash @torproject hi! Which documentation do you refer to? Is it on orbot.app website?
@torproject @ggus I refer to https://orbot.app/en/kindness/ and others. What I'd like to see is a step by step guide I can forward to non-techies. And info on things like "Do I need to to just start orbot with kindness mode enabled or do I connect to tor?" and "Why does orbot come with an 'always on vpn' ?" which made a few of my friends doubt their tech skills. They just wanted to share their connection. And so did I and even after I looked things up I could not tell them.
Kindness Mode - Snowflake Proxy in Orbot

Running a Snowflake Proxy is one of the easiest, safest, and most impactful ways to help people circumvent censorship, especially if you’re in a place with an open and free internet. Your device, through your public IP address, becomes an essential bridge for people where Tor is blocked (in, say, Iran or China) and the entrance to the Tor network. There are many ways you can run a Snowflake Proxy.
