theHastyOneFediverse got me out here defending #proton mail.
Just a general reminder, PGP/GPG protects the inside of the email, it does not protect the following:
- Who you sent it to
- the address you used to send it
- The Subject of the message
- The IPs you used to connect to mail severs
- the name and payment information you used when you signed up for the provier
It takes a lot of work and privacy is a sliding scale
