@ehproque
Yes, youre almost close to it.
The horseshoe theory insists, that left and rightwing extremism in the end are the same while centrists simultaneously want to fight against religious extremism.
This arguing empowers the rightwing religious fascists
and it shows…. 🤷
-perversely sadistic
@Nachtflug Khomeini was incompetent?
(half joke, half "I have absolutely zero idea")
@Nachtflug They are not opposites. They are both fundamentalist religious fascists.
They are - as this shows - almost identical, just using a different set of words.
@Nachtflug Yes, but it is the idea, AIUI, that they are opposites that are the same. I don't think these are opposites.
Yes, the extreme left and the extreme right in politics are horseshoe differences - they are quite different, but end up with something that is all authoritarian in approach.
What I feel for these is that they are not actually opposites. They are simply the same thing. It is more like the many splits in anarchist movements, because they have a difference of opinion over one matter.
I think there is a difference here. But maybe not. I am not always perfect*.
*In fairness, never. Except by accident.
