If I think of all the levers I could pull to improve the performance of a software development team, the data's clear that "AI" code generation has so little leverage where team outcomes are concerned that I doubt it would even be on the list.
@jasongorman This makes me realize that most/many who report massive AI gainz are solo devs.
@simeon Yup. They got the car up to 200 mph on a straight road with no other cars around, and mistakenly think they could drive through rush hour traffic at the same speed.

"We have all these senior developers with huge amounts of experience saying do lots of feedback and skills in teams to make them deliver better, but no, I'll listen to these TechBros promises and pay them instead”

Better software delivery is not the agenda here.

@thirstybear T'was ever thus. They don't want to hear "This is about teams and about skills and about process and about people". They want a magic wand they can buy that will fix everything.
