Update on the Desktop saga. I finally got Windows 10 to install on it, however yep, something is definitely fucked. now it's repeatedly freezing or powering off after being booted and logged in, pretty quickly, too. Maybe 30 seconds to 2 minutes after booting. Once it even booted into startup recovery.
@Bri Oof, I'm surprised Windows even installed then. Wish I could be helpful, but the only thing I can think of is to do the stuff you can't exactly do right now. Test ram, hd, or somehow get someone to look inside the tower to see if connections look broken. Or maybe something is overheating and it needs new thermal paste? No frigging idea, and of course you don't exactly have the means to just, have someone compatent magically come over and help you with this. That... Sucks bigtime.
@musicalman Yeah, unfortunately I currently don't.
@Bri How much of a loss would it be if you can't ever get it working?
@musicalman Honestly, I had literally 100% of everything backed up from that machine, so ... I guess just the hardware/money loss.
@musicalman I'm definitely going to miss the 16 core AMD processor and 32 gigs of ram that thing had.
@Bri Well dang. Rofl you scared me for a sec on that first message, I thought you were going to say, I had literally 100 percent of everything I care about on that machine. But yeah no, you said you backed it up. I know it wasn't intentional but if it was, oh boy you would've gotten me good.
@musicalman Hahahaha yeah no, actually what started this whole fiasco was that I wanted to throw linux on it to get FastSM and stuff running on it and well, it all kinda descended into chaos from there.
