This is how I spend my free time. People like this make my skin crawl. And the fact that a church of all things is literally evicting economically disadvantaged people from their homes should be met with a lot more outrage.
A fair exchange would not be relocation assistance, it would be relocating those homes and ensuring continuity of the existing contracts those who are currently living there. The church can clearly afford to wait as long as is necessary to build those stairs. It's not some corporate business, it's literally religious doctrine to help those in need.

@josh It's the Sangrada Familia cathedral in Barcelona, Spain. There's a set of stairs in the plans that are supposed to take up an entire city block in front of it, which the church owns, and they've been providing affordable housing there, but now they're evicting everyone to bulldoze the whole block and build the stairs. The cathedral has been under construction for 144 years.
