Are you a fem presenting person? Do you have a penis? If so do you wear leggings/spandex?

If you do, please tell me about it so I can become brave enough to do it too.

I do wear leggings but I have shorts/skirt over the top. And sometimes that looks great, but sometimes I just don't want that.

@AlexInBlue

I really hope so. I've gotten a look that I'm "ok" with all tucked away on occasion. But I'm not at all confident it would stay that way, so it's not close to something I could do without encouragement or more knowledge of whatever magic is necessary.

@jojo yes, unfortunately, and yes.

I basically wear leggings exclusively. I wear gaffs to flatten everything out. I get mine from LeoLines and UrBasics.

@PurpleStephyr

Maybe I'll just try it.

@jojo I do ✨ Sometimes I use a gaff but usually I pair it with a long blouse or a dress. Keeping the leggings from drooping is an exercise left for the reader though 👀
@jojo one of the first things I tried after my orchi healed was some super tight yoga pants. Wife said I was definitely pulling it off but I’m still a little scared 😅

@margaux

I have a pair of skintight capri pseudo-legging pants that I'm hoping work after my orchi. They are definitely hard mode right now though. I can't even wear them in the house.

But yeah I'm hoping my orchi helps with it. Those two do make things difficult for sure. Feels like the bulk (heh) of the issue.

@margaux

My wife suggests that I wear leggings on occasion. I'm not sure she really understands my dysphoria. And I don't understand that it's not nearly as noticeable as I see it.

@jojo yes this exactly!

@jojo ok so uhh caveat first i guess: im probably not really the best transfem to answer because as a general rule, i dont tuck and idgaf about showing a bulge. so bear that in mind i guess.

but yes, yes, and yes.

first… ymmv of course but my orchi was a gamechanger. i, uhhh, have always tended to be in the “grower, not a shower” category so my bulge wasn’t ever super prominent. but, not tucking, it was still definitely “there”. post-orchi, if i’m wearing leggings with any kind of compression at all (most leggings) with my regular undies, it’s hard to see there’s any bulge unless you’re really looking. i think it looks a lot more like a (slightly large, slightly low) mons pubis than it does like a dick bulge. so, hopefully you’ll be a lot better off in a month, regardless.

beyond that… i guess a lot of it is kinda just standard transfem techniques. gaff. underwear a size too small. underwear doubled up. if you’re having trouble keeping things tucked, you can get tape to help, but that feels like a lot of effort given that leggings tend to be more casual/comfy clothes. dark fabrics. i think activewear leggings tend to have more compression than casualwear leggings.

you might also be able to find some good tunic length tops that hide things well enough without being so long that they read as a dress?

dysphoria sucks ass. i hope you find something that works because god i fucking love leggings lol, one of my favorite post-transition clothing options.

@deirdre

The long top thing is hard for me because 😍🤩 crop tops 🤩😍. Lol.

Thanks. I think just courage is the issue.

@jojo I got -incredibly- self-conscious post-transition about wearing bike shorts, the dysphoria of seeing myself otherwise being dressed femme but seeing -that- down there had a lot of whiplash.

Over time, though, I've gotten used to it, and if anything I'm now really happy with how I look in a tank and bike shorts, it comes off very femme to me after a long ride, and I barely notice how things sit around the shorts.

What ripped the balance for me was a few weekends in a row where I went out biking, hated the thought of it.. but caught glimpses of myself in the reflection of windows along the way, realised how femme-presenting I was in outline, and how little you actually notice things through the spandex when you're focused on the overall body.

@jojo This is probably the first time I noticed it.. and enough so to stop and take a photo. It's only gotten better, both in feeling and look, since then.

@tursiae

Yeah, winter is over here (I mean it's probably not but I want it to be) but wearing tights/leggings for running was something I really wanted but didn't do. Maybe I got around to it with spandex shorts,

Thanks for sharing.
