Listen app devs, nobody wants to use your in-app browser. We don't care that it's "powered by Chrome", if I click a link just let it open in default browser. Our cookies and cached info is there, you're actively hindering our experience, and making us less likely to use your app.
@anon_opin but think of the spying that could be done otherwise
@anon_opin In-app browsers are easier to track, so good luck convincing app developers. 😒
@anon_opin Counterpoint: opening a link in small webkitgtk wrapper is both faster and more comfy than opening a browser every time. And it doesn't even have to involve any spying.
@anon_opin
Why didn't California make a law requiring an OS system to require this preference be decided during install, and that all apps honor the decision...
@anon_opin It's just to bypass adblockers, tracking blockers etc. Your data is more important to them than your privacy.
Install adblockers, Ghostery, and similar. Tweak your privacy and allow things as needed.
