@superuserdo @r1w1s1 desktop, absolutely. I hate laptops, always have. They are flimsy and don't last. My desktops have all been upgradable, and last for 7 years or longer. Often much longer.

Hi! I mostly use a ThinkPad laptop (currently a T14) and also an X220.
Both run Slackware Linux with X11. I keep the setup minimal with st, mtm, and nvi as my main editor.
