On my classic Macs with DB25 SCSI ports, is there any reason why I'd NOT settle on just using the DB25 #BlueSCSI over the internal versions? With easy access to the SD, the Pico WiFi being outside and no I/O performance hit... it just seems advantageous, no?

I added a right angle DB25 adapter so the BlueSCSI is upright and parallel to the back of the case to reduce rear clearance, too (helpful on my display shelves).

Curious for opinions! #vintagemac #retrocomputing

@halfpress I guess the clean look is the advantage of the internal. But yes, then I usually also try to have wired Ethernet, since WiFi shielding is so bad. Is it easy to find a right-angle DB-25 adapter?

@behr Totally agree with the clean look in normal situations. I should have mentioned that mine are on shelves quite near the wall, so everything behind is hidden. I’m using right angle C14 adapters as well to help reduce rear clearance.

I’m using this DB25 adapter: https://a.co/d/00hnQ2yq

Also landing here because I’ve had some wonky internal board issues and tired of opening the machines to debug. :)

My NeXT machines are internal, but fairly easily opened at least.
