To be clear on the pediatric side we have been dealing with it for some time now and the media is taking an interest in it now.
Post pandemic in the CCT realm we have seen a troubling spike with HMPV in combination with RSV or Flu. Pre Pandemic we almost always saw these in isolation. The combo infections hit even previously healthy kiddos hard and where as high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) used to be a miracle intervention we now are having to use CPAP / BiPAP exponentially more.
