A bad week for Luxon and the National Party just got worse.

"Curia poll due today to show National down from 31% to 28%, the lowest level since Bridges and Collins; Luxon leadership talk returns; Jet fuel prices up 12%; Hardship rejections up 66%."

They may be slumping too soon.
Old wisdom was not to change leader too close to an election, but Ardern may have changed that.
Hopefully they can drag it out real well, maximizing the damage. They rolled Brash too efficiently for the left to get much benefit from his misspeaking

I still have trust issues with any poll commissioned by the Atlas Network. But even they must surely know that Luxon is an inadequate and unpopular man, uniquely unsuited to public service. Is pushing National into rolling Luxon the intended outcome of this poll?

Regardless, it's chilling to think that at some point, the senior group which drives the National Party interviewed Luxon for the top job. Then despite the shallow thinking, a pathological reliance on gobblydegook and his genuine lack of interest in international affairs, they still concluded "Yep, he's our man."

That's National Party values for you.
