I think the better analogy is either EOS or deprecated.
The fact malignant actors have been able to ignore it / work round it, especially the system of a politically appointed SCOTUS with no term limits...
The 2 cheeks of the same arse party system doesn't help either*.
Ultimately the arrogant exceptionalism.
*We now have more than 2 cheeks of the right wing arse ourselves, unless you count "Labour" as a Tribute Act.
