Oh dear - ARC Raiders was logging your private Discord chats

Here's a reminder that when you connect up various accounts - you may end up just increasing the risk of your private data going somewhere else.

@gamingonlinux that comment: "Turns out it was a data extraction shooter ๐Ÿ˜‚" ๐Ÿคฃ

@gamingonlinux

Na zum Glรผck schafft sich discord bald selbst ab ๐Ÿ˜Š

@gamingonlinux "This was quite likely not in any way intentional or maliciousโ€ฆ"

I know you like the game despite everything (AI slop etc) but I strongly question your objectivity here. We don't have anything more than their word for this, and this is such a glaring issue that we have no reason to blindly believe them.

@Natanox my liking the game has nothing to do with it

being objective - this really is quite likely just a permissions fuck up somewhere, but still concerning hence writing about it

@Natanox @gamingonlinux

"we have no reason to blindly believe them"

Oh whaaaaT??! Oh there's lots of reasons!!?

It's not like tech companies are like known to *lie* or anything! They don't like do that stuff! They are just like you and me, mistakes, hey it's that simple! We can just *believe* their PR releases, it's not like they are professionally crafted lies for "damage control" or anything, don't be silly! Gosh gee whiz, enuf with the downer skepticism already!

/s (for the dense)

discord not catching a break lately

@gamingonlinux

Isn't this the game that used AI to voice, well...everything?

Maybe they are just training their models with more "human-speak"? No harm in that right? I mean, yk, how else is "Mr. Data" gonna learn to feel more "human"? Yk..get "emotions" an stuff?

/s (for the dense)

@kitkat_blue they used AI (paid actors) for specifically voice barks, nothing else
@gamingonlinux This only happened if you linked your Discord account with Arc Raiders (why would you want to do that? What are the features you get by doing that?), right?
