Disappointing to still hear people make the "Russians are scared" argument about why Russians don't protest. I'm sure they are. So were Ukrainians when they camped out on Maidan 2013-2014, being shot, kidnapped and tortured, until their corrupt president fled the country. Sometimes there are more important things than self-preservation.

And the majority of Russians (~2/3 of the country) support the war.
