It is absolutely unhinged that we even need a war power’s resolution to restate what is already explicit in the United States Constitution. Yet here we are. smh

@QasimRashid AIUI Congress previously delegated a portion of their authority over acts of war to the president with the authorization for the use of military force, which is still in effect, so a new bill is needed to revoke that delegation of authority.

But they’ve been ignoring the constitution in so many other ways, it’s not clear that the bill passing would have been sufficient
