I’m still gathering my thoughts on vibe coding. To see if there is a difference between $work tools and and competitors I built a small website for a personal niche with Claude code. If anyone is into biking and skiing in around Vancouver https://www.vbss.ca might be helpful.

It’s still rough, I need to spend a bit more time figuring out to get a decent search - I’ve built a 2gb set of vectors using a local embedding model and MLX but it doesn’t fit on a 1gb/1vcpu VPS so I need to experiment with PCA and quantization, plus fix bugs.

Vancouver Bike and Ski Stuff - Home

@ook I like it :-) but I want snowboard stuff instead of skiing stuff 😅

(I know the website has them and even other thinkg, just making fun of the name)

@villasbc fair! I guess Snowsports is an option? Naming is hard. The name is one way to restrict scope. This is a personal project, I mostly care about bikes and ski stuff and I won’t/can’t monetize it so once I have fixed some bugs and TODOs I won’t spend much time on it. If it’s also useful for snowboard stuff that’s a nice bonus! Technically the stores the site scrapes also stock equipment for camping, clothing, hiking, skateboarding, standup paddle board, tennis etc so I could add functionality for those niches. I could also add other regions; there are a ton of local stores in other cities in BC and other provinces with free shipping if you spend $X. Once it works well for bike and ski stuff in Vancouver I’m happy!
