@RToD @ericsedge Some very cool printouts sent to my ImageWriter II (shared on #GlobalTalk via Simple Spooler since it doesn't have a LocalTalk option card.) I think this #MARCHintosh is shaping up to be the Year of the ImageWriter.

Am I doing it wrong? 🤷‍♂️

@jonschwenn Yes, that is definitely wrong. Maybe it's a DIP switch setting that isn't correct? I can dig up the defaults if you don't have a manual handy
@_the_cloud when I looked at the manual this looked right to me
@jonschwenn Those DIP switch settings all look correct to me as well. If you quit Simple Spooler and print something normally from the SE/30, does it also come out stretched?
@jonschwenn Actually my SW2-5 setting is different from yours... you have it closed and mine is open. But the manual says not to touch it, and it probably doesn't affect the size of the image like you're seeing.
@jonschwenn I'll try printing again...
@_the_cloud do you want to try one more time? It was printing like normal, but stopped halfway.
@jonschwenn Did that one work?
@_the_cloud mostly yes. It ran through 10 blank pages then printed this. Hoping the blanks were just a fluke.
@jonschwenn Oh no! Looks like you got a burst of form feed characters and garbage before the start of the actual image. Let me try printing from a different program...
@_the_cloud yaaaa I turned it off and on again and it fixed itself.
@jonschwenn That's actually useful information. The text printing shows that the IW II was in extended character mode. That's controllable through software. I could send an escape sequence to reset that before printing. Interesting that the normal AppleTalk ImageWriter driver doesn't do that itself.
