Alright #Linux and #Infosec Community. My work laptop is running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.

It's enrolled in Intune and Defender. It also have some nifty tools and scripts. I'm happy ! It works perfectly.

How to preserve that so if the laptop die I can be up and running asap ?

@Bluewall The core linux answer is "Recreate it in NixOS and save your config" I believe

@brettowe it would probably mess around with intune registration after that. But I could fix it after reinstalling

@Bluewall dunno how intune works so can't say, only item i'm half expecting a failure with uefi so might need a rescue disk also just to fix its registration

@Bluewall the correct answer is to follow the strategy you workplace has.

If I’m misunderstanding and it’s truly up to you, borg (vorta for front end) and duplicati are the classics.
