You know what this is the first fight (faux-Princess vs Esad) it's occurred to me, "Oh right, this is a Guy Ritchie show". I mean it's been there the whole time but it just clicked. That said jumping over the stair railing to run in the same direction of the stairs does not help you escape pursuit. The whole point is that you go the opposite way so they have to either jump over as well (which they can't because they're not as athletic) or they have to race all the way down the stairs and jerk their momentum in the opposite way to turn and catch you. If you do what she does you just keep running down the stairs and you actually gain a little time as she has to pause to take the impact of the jump. Just a bit of silly blocking if you ask me but it sticks out.
