While talking to a person on my last day in Lisbon we had some back and forth on some expressions. I learned “pau” is wood versus “pão” which means bread and sounds similiar. Then we got into use of “adoro” instead of “amo” to say “I love bread”. I am still confused, but less so now, on when to add the “-me” ending. So I asked, if would I say, “Adoro-me pão” but I don’t get the nasal sound strong enough. He laughed and said, “No. You just said, ‘I love my dick.’” LOL. That could come in handy in some situations though :). I found it education and humorous anyway. #language #Portuguese
