@dvl Are you replacing MySQL installations? Did that installations broke somehow during upgrade, related to the "root" user password?

If so, could same password issue not happen with MariaDB too?

@ax6761 Also, if the same thing happens with MariaDB, I have all these proponents who, when I presented a MySQL problem, said switch to MariaDB... surely they can fix it.
