Motorola GrapheneOS devices will be bootloader unlockable/relockable for end users. This is good news.

@nixCraft I'm thinking about that, my next phone will probably be another Motorola if they go ahead with this.
@nixCraft all motorola phones are bootloader unlockable/relockable, they're not xiaomi
@ralen @nixCraft unlockable yes, relockable no, until now
@nixCraft Super. Which devices are they likely to be?
@adingbatponder @nixCraft

I think it'll be something like their ThinkPhone.
@nixCraft nice! Finally some god damn good news.
@nixCraft
Will they have free key slots to install other roms and relock bootloader without issue? (like pixel phones)
Mystery.
@nixCraft
I've stayed away from Motorola phones since Lenovo bought them. Too few security and OS updates. Once these Graphene based Motorola phones come out, I expect that to change. I will be needing a new phone next year. Please let this Motorola/Graphene partnership create the types of phones we are sorely needing!
@nixCraft it would be wise for Motorola to ship the phone they release with Graphene OS preinstalled. A larger portion of the market that does not have the tech smarts to install it could possibly become interested in it making the device , Graphine and privacy more of a success... and maybe an important standard some day instead of us being data banks for data brokers whilst companies sell us out after we give them $1500 for a phone. . I know, wishful thinking.
