A nice example of a 2 dimensional image with a lot of perspective for a background canvas for the #scriptedTale projects. The author has had no issues if we use it for #GIMP'ing, as long as it is in a respectful manner.

In general terms speaking, it's quite simple to create a comic like image Canvas with GIMP from a photo or other image.

To begin with, the image was sized in Image > Scale Image... to the standard canvas defined for the #scriptedTales project as:
1920px * 1080px

In:
Filters > Artistic
you'll find the option:
> Cartoon

The respective tool box will open.
In this example the metrics chosen were:
Mask radius: 20
Percent black: 0,8

Some simple gimping of the image already changed it into a more comic like imagery.

A transparent layer created to cover some details of an image.
It is a .webp image and has the same size than the canvas, 1920x1080px.
