Another reminder that the most militarized nation on Earth murdered over a hundred school girls barely 2 days ago and not a major western media outlet carries the story anymore.

By contrast, 5 rich people died on a vanity trip to the Titanic and we wouldn't shut up about it for over a year.

Literally Toronto's Globe and Mail carried that story 23 times that month and during the same time frame, did 2 stories on the deaths of 700 migrants in the Mediterranean that same month.

It isn't just by lying. Turning a blind eye and ignoring is enough to manipulate public opinion. We are subtly being told that those girls' deaths are not important, not newsworthy, nothing to worry about.

Please don't let their deaths go silent so easily.

Keep tooting about them. Remind people of their murders. They should be front page news, not some turd in a tie.

Sadly social media has to do what corporate media will not. Corporate media is fascist controlled now.

@chu What is selected and what is not selected is the message
@chu AJ made an interesting investigation of the incident. What is not generally known is that the school is located near (but very clearly separated from) a military base. It is basically the school, Iranian military personnel send their daughters. My take is that Israelis deliberately targeted the school to tell Iranian soldiers we will go after your kids if you don't surrender. Zionists are Nazis. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/3/3/questions-over-minab-girls-school-strike-as-israel-us-deny-involvement?traffic_source=rss

@chu A good chunk of social media is also fascist controlled now. I wish I could get more people to leave Twitter, but I can't say too much because I'm still on Facebook.
It's too bad we can't use our Fediverse accounts to talk to people on other platforms.

@Ambulocetus

Good point.

I only have this account now so I forget what the rest of SM is like

@Ambulocetus @chu but then that would infect the Fediverse with all manner of scummery from the non-Fediverse. I'm not even a fan of the Bluesky Bridge - it all feels a bit "I want to be on Mastodon but I'm not sure".
@nomenloony @chu I don't like Bluesky either. The biggest funders of Bluesky are the crypto-bros from Blockchain Capital LLC, one of whom is a friend of Steve Bannon.
@Ambulocetus @chu yeah that's why I quit there. I'm now the owner of my own instance and it's lovely knowing no billionaires will ever take it over.
@chu @regendans fair enough, the commercial Dutch network RTL opened it’s news (@rtlnieuws ) with footage from the girls in a morgue …
