Hmmm, my blog is throwing 500 errors, that's new, gateway errors have happened before, but not basic 500s. I suspect my blog/Friendica instance might be dead, and while the abruptness is a surprise, its not unexpected. Previously it was hosted with SpaceHost, and something happened over there, at one point there was a reply to a post about billing that it would resume once the lawyers reviewed things. Yeah, that sounds weird, and it was only a couple months later that @gofedi took over the hosting and said the rates would be unchanged… And billing never resumed nor did their site ever switch from coming soon to services offered.
Welp, going to miss some people over there, I had a few very active Diaspora accounts that I'd love to follow or wish could follow me here, but what can one do, Diaspora doesn't share with most of the Fediverse.
I do need to find a host for Wafrn, I was already planning on switching to it, this place is good, but I do prefer to have my own, @admin or @barkmin know of anyone that's offering hosted instances?

@chuff @admin @barkmin Hey, I'm escalating this to @rjbasitali to see what's going on.

Hey, looks like your server crashed because the OS decided to kill the database process due to OOM (out of memory), it happens when the database requires more memory than it is available. There probably was some usage spike which resulted in your server overwhelming the database.

To avoid this from happening in future, we have configured the database to allow limited connections and buffer size, which will prevent the OS from killing it.

Interesting as all I'd done was fired up FireFox and it'd connected to two of my accounts (Admin and personal)

Most of the times it occurs due to an influx of federation requests by other servers federated with your instance, so it may not be caused by any of your actions.
