You might think the #IranUSIsraelWar would be bad for Russia because Iran would be either using, or losing, its drones and drone building capacity for Russia… and that might be true, but Russia also has its own large industrial base.

The reason Russia is 'losing' right now is because it is down on both "blood" -- multiple recent reports are that it is not replacing soldiers as fast as it is losing them -- and "treasure” -- Russia relies on oil revenues to fund its war and Ukraine has been destroying Russian infrastructure while the price of oil simultaneously remained relatively low since 2022.

This new war is raising the price of oil: Brent Crude was $69 on February 26, it's now $83.

Even with depleted Russian export capacity, sanctions, and all the rest, that’s a big jump in price that will have an impact on Russia's treasury and its ability to continue to buy blood and weapons for its Imperialist war in Ukraine.

of course there is also the possibility that the Iran war causes so much havoc that the net effect is nil.

Case in point: A Russian LNG tanker is on fire in the Mediterranean "after a reported sea drone attack near Malta”.
