TIL Inkscape has built-in zine templates! You can design the individual pages and then it lays out the print layout automatically. Neat!

@doctormo @cassidy I’ve come to love Inkscape lately. Thank you for your service 🫡🫟
@cassidy Inkscape is just a friggin good software.
@maxmalrichtig @cassidy yup. the real freehand replacement
@maxmalrichtig … with really bad UX. But not actually bad, just somewhat lowlevel-ish at some places. And that's good; Inkscape is irreplaceable for me whenever I need to edit the document on the SVG structure level.
@cassidy
There are some big improvements to the multi-page functionality in the upcoming version of Inkscape - in case anyone runs into bugs.
@cassidy interesting, did not know that!
@cassidy I never knew it has such feature.
@cassidy Cool. I played around with the multi-page feature in 1.4.0, and it was still a bit underwhelming. Seems to have evolved nicely. 😃
@cassidy i used this the other day for a zine that i've made. do you know if there's any nice way to edit the template to export the pages in order (for a pdf to be read on-screen)?

@cassidy Where is that? I don't see it in my template list. I've used Inkscape a little but I'm not super familiar with it.

Edit: It's a version thing. I'm on Linux Mint, the Software Manager installs v1.2, and looks like the zine template was added in 1.4. I installed the newest version and it's there.

@cassidy
What does TIL mean, and How do I find this template on Inkscape 1.4.3?
@cassidy where do I find this?
