1. After dropping their CQC care home rating from ‘good’ to ‘needs improvement’, and losing 3 managers in the space of 6 months, the management at my mum’s care home thought they’d print some bullshit PR to reassure (gaslight) everyone that things weren’t on the slide.

It included satisfaction statistics that were entirely unattributed/fictitious (see pic).

5. I’ve lost faith in them completely.

Much as I admire some of the nursing staff, who work bloody hard, it’s obvious that the home is being run down from its starting point, to extract maximum cash for its investors.

I knew little about how private equity works, but once you see it in operation, you realise why it’s such a cancer in our society.

I’m reaching out to another home.
