Motorola announces a partnership with GrapheneOS Foundation.

@nixCraft which i find very weird considering that Motorola has a pretty shit track record when it comes to delivering android updates.. which you know.... is pretty important to android security which grapheneOS claims they care about... so those two together feels kinda weird
@thibaultmol @nixCraft but graphene regularly ships updates. They are the solution in my mind. This partnership would unblock graphene from a lot of Google's AOSP shenanigans if I'm following everything. Seems like a win win.
@Unsightly3055 @nixCraft i mean... Maybe.... But most other Android manufacturers are able to ship updates and reasonable time periods, is your specifically that Motorola hasn't been doing there and specifically for their budget phones.
Which I call negligence
@thibaultmol @nixCraft yeah, that may be the case for Motorola now. If GrapheneOS is responsible for the OS then it shouldn't be an issue for the devices they cover. I mean, we don't know what the division of labor will be, maybe Motorola has some other structural issues. Based on what I've seen of graphene though, they're a pretty buttoned up organization. I would be surprised if they chose poorly.
