Desperately trying to convince myself that I don’t need an Ayn Thor before the rampocalypse makes them unaffordable or they simply stop making them.
@pretz uhhh are there DS emulators?
@kyle Kyle do you want a handheld the size of a 3Ds XL that can upscale DS and 3DS to 1080p? Oh and it’s oled 120hz
@pretz you mean my favorite two consoles, my favorite display technology, my favorite resolution, and my favorite refresh rate?
@kyle the main downsides are it’s capacitive instead of resistive, so stylus based controls can be a bit weird, and it’s Android so it takes quite a bit of configuring.
And they’re about $400 (for now)

@kyle the reasons I’m convincing myself not to get one:
Already have a 3DS XL, DSi XL, and a steam deck.
Never really go anywhere anyway
Can use a telescopic controller on my phone for single screen, which is already 120hz oled
Don’t have time to play the games I already want to play anyway

But: none of those things are a transparent purple dual screen oled clamshell

@pretz I am reporting this post to your administrator. Get this off of my screen.
@kyle I missed a pretty big discount on AliExpress yesterday and that might be the nudge I need to hold off. My Steam Deck remains the most value I’ve gotten for a piece electronics in the last five years.
@pretz I see them for preorder on ayntec-dot-com for $250??
@pretz Oh, there are different models, I see. Phew. I have no desire at $400+. You definitely should though, you deserve it.
@kyle the “lite” model has a much weaker CPU, but base is $330 shipped, maybe justifiable. With storage and ram prices as they are, if I got one I’d probably go pro or max. transparent purp is only on the $$$ models of course.
@pretz @kyle I’m trying to convince myself I don’t need one, but maybe I do.
@kern @pretz You both do, look at you. Not me though. Not me.
