When I look at this picture,
a wave of feelings hits me all at once…
pain, longing, heartbreak
This was my home
It held warmth, safety, my children’s laughter,
Now I sit in a tent, trying to explain to my children why the house won’t come back today.
It’s not easy to share this pain,
but harder still to live it alone
