@GrapheneOS is the device still expected to roll out in 2027 or will it be towards the tail end of 2026?
@skywalker2k17 @GrapheneOS

From what I've heard none of the 2026 devices from Moto made the cut.
@alexia @GrapheneOS sad, I was hoping Motorola Signature, the Razrs (Fold and Flip) will make the cut at the very least.
@skywalker2k17 @alexia They're close but don't have hardware memory tagging usable in production and we aren't willing to lose it. It will be the next generation of those devices supporting GrapheneOS.
@GrapheneOS @skywalker2k17 @alexia I am ready for an upgrade.. Wish a repairable phone was an option. Due to the fact the only thing wrong with my phone is the charge port on my pixel 7.

@pmurphs @GrapheneOS @alexia maybe a fairphone and there are some other European alternatives too (one or two more but I can't remember).

Edit : I think one of them is a Shiftphone. But you should look into them (as I didn't bother with them cuz I can't get them shipped to my place).

@skywalker2k17 @GrapheneOS @alexia yeah. I have looked at Fairphones. Their hardware (according to the grapheneos team) is not secure. So there is no grapheneos support.
@pmurphs @skywalker2k17 @GrapheneOS @alexia there are more issues beyond just the hardware. The fairphone team has not been able to ship timely security patches to their devices which are needed for GraphineOS development, they have in the past just accidentally leaked their device signing keys meaning you could never be sure of your security on any device signed with those keys pre or post leak, and many other issues. I really hope they can get it together some day because I hate compromising
@jan_leila @skywalker2k17 @GrapheneOS @alexia thanks! I knew there were more issues the one was just top of mind.. Still we need more repairable options for phone.
@pmurphs @GrapheneOS @skywalker2k17 @alexia I keep a back up Pixal 7 and just booted it up yesterday. It was dead and wasn't charging. Had me so worried about repairing replacing the battery. It would start to boot and then fail due to batter charge. Luckly I found that pausing the GOS boot corrected this and now It's just fine.
@Prometheus @GrapheneOS @skywalker2k17 @alexia that's good for me to mental note. My issue is USB c port damage / failure. And right now I have to balance keeping the heat on in my car versus wirelessly charging my phone, and my phone is at 14%, because the wireless charging overheats the phone.
@pmurphs @GrapheneOS @skywalker2k17 @alexia I looked up how repairable the motorola was. It's a stretch for the screen and usb c port. The back camera isn't too bad. 🫣
@GrapheneOS @alexia I see, thank you for letting us know the reason why. It's sad to see manufacturers intentionally disable MTE when it can prevent a lot of attacks.
