While people in #Iran suffer from #Trump war, #fossilfuel companies are going to cash in: The gas price in Europe has jumped 25% today within a day. The bills for these windfall profits will land on kitchen tables of ordinary people. 1/3 🧵

Spannend,hast du Quelle fĂĽr den index.

@andreassieber.bsky.social

Ich bin auch kein Fan von Gas, aber der Chart-Ausschnitt von Andreas ist doch etwas speziell ausgeschnitten
@Erdi @andreassieber.bsky.social steigt aber gerade noch weiter .. ist jetzt bei 43..

@andreassieber.bsky.social the good news: people who change to renewables, don't have to make the #FossilFuelIndustry rich.

#IronicalExaggerationAlarm

@NatureMC @andreassieber.bsky.social I don’t love that we’re shifting systemic problems to ordinary people. Ok, I have solar panels, I use a “green” electricity provider and have an EV (though I use public transport and bike unless not feasible). But f me, if the Shells and Chevrons and Exxons can keep doing whatever the f they want, it really doesn’t matter what consumer choices I make. Because indistrial use is where it’s at (mostly)
@NatureMC @andreassieber.bsky.social consumer goods prices still heavily depend on fossil fuels, which means food will also be more expensive.

@bloodymirova And also here: transition produces more sustainabilty and independence! (My post was an ironical exaggeration to say how important transition is).

@andreassieber.bsky.social

@bloodymirova I don't shift it to normal people. People are (voting) citizens but also part of states! And if states help to do the transition, they are more independent! We have this choice, politics has the choice.

BTW, the toll of wars is always paid by the people. Thinking otherwise would be naive.

Who remembers the last time oil prices rose and airlines, ferries, etc raised fares with the excuse of increased fuel prices?

Were those prices ever lowered when prices dropped? No.

Another opportunity for Corporate Greed to gouge & bleed us dry again with the very likely upcoming oil price increases.

Think beyond their statements.

Question Authority.
