Another day, another complex open source software project springs into existence without prior indication of development. This one claims to be a “clean room reimplementation” of sqlite, probably because the author doesn’t know what clean room implementations are.
The homepage of the project starts with a rubbish genai image, and the github repository has one human contributor, and claude. Clearly the whole thing was just vibe coded into existence by spmeone who overlooked the turso project.
The home page is interesting though. It’s got the same breathless pseudo-technical feel that the salt-lang page had, like it was written by someone who didn’t really understand the terminology but was prepared to insert it into marketing copy anyway, and a whole load of comparisons and benchmarks that aren’t really very meaningful but fill up a lot of space.
I guess thats ai all over… the assumption that quantity and gloss is the same as quality.
