#Disclaimer: Trump is an idiot with dementia and this war is stupid, but too many of my fellow Americans were stupid enough to vote for him in 2024.

MY THOUGHTS:

Can't help but wonder what the Middle East would be like if Iran hadn't spent the last 45 years setting up its "final war with Israel" through proxies like #Hamas, #Hezbollah, and the #Houthis

People have all but forgotten that Iran poured millions of dollars every year into an anti-Semitic propaganda campaign that painted Israel and Jews as the bad guys while they pursued their own villainous agenda for reshaping the Middle East in their own image (they've partially succeeded in Iraq, which under Saddam was their No. 1 enemy).

And, yes, Netanyahu and some of his successors have done all they could to earn the Bad Guy label Iran painted them with.

In the 1960s and 1970s Israel was clearly the victim of vicious racial warfare by its neighbors. But one by one they made peace with Israel and acknowledged its right to exist.

The Islamic Revolution of 1979 changed the course of that progress.

Nonetheless, at the end of the day, the people of Israel didn't ask for this situation. SOME of them did, but most only want to live in peace with their neighbors.

I know I'm a voice in the wilderness, but I hope all the people directing all their hate at Israel eventually learn the truth and accept they've been played by a massive propaganda machine.

Yes - under Netanyahu (and other leaders) Israel has done bad things. But where would the Middle East be today if Iran hadn't been playing this long manipulative game for longer than many of Israel's haters have been alive?

@michael_martinez I wholeheartedly agree with you, but I also have a question to tag on, where would Iran, Israel, and the middle east at large be had not the British and Americans meddle in Iranian affairs in 1953, for every action has an equal or greater reaction and far to often in human history, actions are made without the wisdom of foresight, leading to a tumultuous reoccurrence of reactions, which have the appearance of being everlasting and ongoing, for all the world's a stage and man it seems has failed to realize that playing along with one another makes for a much better unified story with a far greater prosperous ending for all;
