Lunch done, and diving into a battery replacement in my SO's 2019 MacBook.

Gathering tools and setting up a comfy working position with a cuppa tea. The #iFixit outline suggests it's more involved than my older 2012 model. A good resource though!

I'm in. Hmm, I should get some tweezers.

Whew, that was a lot of steps! The iFixit guide is nicely done. Two spots along the way were difficult though.

- Their glue strip removal words are not so clear. By the end my technique is good and I wouldn't have had the couple of pull fails that happened. (They expect you to fail on those and offer remedies, but the trick is to pull very low, not as their pics show)

- The logic board screws suddenly didn't fit the stated screwdrivers. Managed to find one that worked, but it was worrisome.

Sitting for a few minutes with fresh tea to decompress before reassembly.

Compared the new battery to the old battery and am reassured that they are equivalent… at least physically.

Ensuring you have spots for all the screws that come out along the way is super useful. I've labelled them with the disassembly guide steps so I don't mix them up.

Some of the screws are very small. Glad I haven't sneezed during this process.

Whew. I'm done and it turns on. Yay.

And no left over parts. I remember my grandfather saying that if you don't have parts left over you haven't done it right. lol

@ottaross So. Important. Vital, even.
@tantramar would hate to get into it and suddenly realize I didn't know what went where anymore. Wah!
