Alex@rtnVFRmedia Suffolk UK#ThamesValleyPolice in SE #England are now accepting trainee #officers with driving #licences for #automatic vehicles ( #MetPol has already quietly started doing this) - until recently #Police #Officers had to have a licence for manual vehicles.
This isn't at all surprising given many younger folk in high traffic areas of #SE England are learning exclusively in automatic cars and 80% of the #Police fleet including the fast response / performance vehicles of the RPU (Roads Policing Unit) already has auto 'boxes, but I suspect its also because they are struggling to attract and retain officers, no one *wants* to join the Old Bill these days !
