Usually when Disney closes an old attraction, I'm somewhat upset about it. But today is the last operating day for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster with Aerosmith and I feel absolutely nothing for it. Honestly, I'm sure the Muppets replacement will be a significant improvement.
@zak Only reason I liked that one was that it was a fun thrill ride. But the theming did absolutely nothing for me.
@zak And wait, they're just retheming it around the muppets? Seems like a win!
@kevinmirsky Yeah exactly. Still thrilling, just with a much better theme. I see no downside.

@zak I remember when this opened. Universal was building an electric launch Hulk roller coaster, and Disney had nothing of the sort. Enter Rockn.

Rockn had a great multidecade run but I'm happy it gets to retire peacefully.

Splash Mountain was kept around wayyyy too long after the IP went stale.

@corycarson Well, it'll be semi-retired. The ride will stick around but it'll be re-themed. Which I think is the best balance. Splash Mountain is the correct comparison here. Same thing going on with this one as far as I know.
@zak hope it’s better than avengers that one is a mess
@danielg88 This is over in Disneyland. I haven't seen it yet but this is what I've heard. We don't have any Marvel stuff in Florida because of Universal.

@zak The only thing I’m really going to miss is the marble doors.

Unless they’re keeping those, in which case nothing of value will have been lost.

@elemeno Hard to say. But if they're nice enough, I can't see them wanting to spend the money to replace them.
