@0xabad1dea I did that with the Oxford English Dictionary once, in high school. (...oh, wait, the library had an OED in the corner, I can check that ...)

I spent some time reading the long list of subtly different definitions until I found the one whose example sentence was the text (poem?) I was reading. In the end I don't think it helped understand what I was reading, though.
